The Association of Science Laboratory Technologists of Nigeria (ASLTON), the Nigeria Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT), and Committee of Friends have come together to celebrate the life, service and enduring legacy of Pa Anthony Osas Iyamu at a special Evening of Tribute held in his honour.
The solemn gathering, which took place on Tuesday, 8th September 2026, at the Conference Room, NISLT, Ibadan, brought together family members, friends, colleagues, associates and other individuals whose lives were positively touched by the former ASLTON Chairman.
The event was attended by the National President of ASLTON Pastor Ayotunde Omorilewa, the Acting Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NISLT Dr. Peter Adefisoye Oluwafisoye, the pioneer DG NISLT, Dr. Folurunsho Ighodalo Ijabone, former Council Chairman, Elder Charles Obaseki and the Committee Chairman, Dr Bamidele Daodu alongside other dignitaries and members of the science laboratory technology community.
The Evening of Tribute provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on the remarkable life of Pa Iyamu, remembering him as a leader, mentor, friend and a man who made meaningful contributions to the lives of those around him. Through heartfelt tributes, testimonies and reflections, speakers highlighted his commitment to service, his impact on people and the values he represented.
The programme featured a short sermon, tributes, testimonies and the likes, providing a fitting atmosphere for family, friends and colleagues to celebrate his life and mourn his passing.
Speaking through their participation in the event, NISLT and ASLTON reaffirmed the importance of honouring individuals whose lives have contributed to the growth, unity and development of the science laboratory technology profession and the wider community.
The gathering also served as a reminder that while Pa Anthony Osas Iyamu may have passed on, the memories of his service, relationships and positive impact will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
The organisers expressed appreciation to all who attended physically and those who joined virtually to pay their respects and celebrate the legacy of the departed.
