The Oyo State Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Adenike Fashina, mni, has called on Science Laboratory Technologists in the State to redouble their efforts and remain steadfast in delivering quality services to the people of Oyo State.
She made this charge while receiving members of the Association of Science Laboratory Technologists Oyo State Chapter during a courtesy visit to her office at the State Secretariat, Ibadan.
Dr. Fashina reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, to collaborate with professional bodies in advancing the State’s development agenda. She emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development, noting that acquiring updated knowledge and skills would significantly improve service delivery across various sectors.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Chapter, Mrs. Olubadewo Wuraola, highlighted the role of the Association in regulating the practice of Science Laboratory Technology in Nigeria and serving as the welfare arm of the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT).
She appealed to the Head of Service to address the challenges facing Science Laboratory Technologists, particularly issues relating to employment opportunities for graduates of Science Laboratory Technology within the State’s health sector. Mrs. Olubadewo further expressed the Association’s readiness to partner with the Oyo State Government in strengthening professional collaboration and contributing to the growth and development of the State.
The visit underscored the importance of partnership between government and professional bodies in promoting excellence, capacity building, and improved service delivery for the benefit of the people.
